Now, before you just go about tossing a peach pit in a pot and hoping for the best, it must be "cold stratified", exposed to a period of chiling (to simulate winter) before germination can occur. Our peach pits began their stratification way back on August 27, one of our first days of school. 90 days later, they are ready to sow.
The above video walks through the steps of sowing a prepared peach pit, one that has been fully stratified.
Our students are going to prepare two groups for germination. One group will stay inside ontop of a heat mat and under a grow light, the other group will go out into the greenhouse.
We'll keep you posted on progress!
STUDENTS: Which group do you think will germinate the fastest? Why?

I think the peach pits in the greenhouse will grow faster because of the temperature will stay the same and the plastic top helps to intensefy the sunlight.
The group that I think will germinate the fastest is the one in the greenhouse because they will be getting better sunlight and the surrounding space is better for plants.
i beliv the onens in sid will becuse thay have more farubol cundisuns and thay are more constunt
The group that stays under the grow light will germinate faster because it stays in light 24/7 and the other group wil grow slower because they are not in light all the time.
I THINK THE ONES UNDER THE GROW LIGHT HEAT LAMP .CAUSE THERE GOT UNDER WATER THE PLOTS FOR WATHER
I think that the peach pits inside will grow the fastest because it is warmer and they have constied heat.
